Back to school and New Web site!

When I was a kid I knew it was the end of summer by the Jerry Lewis Telethon. Anyone remember that? It totally took up the television for 21 and 1/2  hours. I can still see him in his Tuxedo, cigarette in hand pleading with the audience to send money to the Muscular Dystrophy Association. It was a pain to miss your shows, but it also renewed your faith in humanity and tugged at your heart. I encourage you to check it out this year. So it was - back to school. Bitter sweet, good bye summer, but hello friends, old and new.

Tell me the truth, who wore a spiked collar as a teen? Who was rebellious or who wore a tiara and played nice? Teen years are the years of expression. I was hippie wanna be. My sis and I enjoyed love beads, macrame chokers, turquoise, peacock feather earrings and bangle bracelets.

Later, my BFF Kathy and I loved Rhinestones and vintage jewelry. She says I got her hooked. We spent hours at the flea market browsing through boxes and cases of jewelry. Some of those styles preferences never go away. I love seeing you at the flea market still Kathy.  Please, please let me know about your childhood and teenage jewelry memories. I want to hear about it in the comment section.

Announcement!

You figured it out, I am sure. I decided to take a leap to a new website host, Shopify. My old one changed ownership and I just was not as pleased, so here I am. It is a huge job to change everything over. I am still dizzy. I do appreciate your patience. With the new web site also comes a new email format. I still want to be able to talk to my wonderful friends and customers, but I feel like I have less room in the actual newsletter. So, that is why I have created the Blog. I also hope I will hear more from you in this format.

Here is the GIVEAWAY!  You could win a stacker ring! but that's not all. You have the choice of making it yourself, with me teaching you, or if that isn't your thing, I will make it for you. All you have to do is answer the questions listed below in the comment section of the blog.

1. What is your teenage jewelry memory. Was it a class ring from a special guy?

2. Do you like the short newsletter with a blog attached or did you like the longer newsletter?

I will select a winner in a random drawing on August the 15th.

I have many favorite jewelry items, one favorite was my cast shackled man that hung from two post earrings in my ear that I made when you and I took the first jewelry class that ‘Pigglet’ started at HCC! It reminds me of the beginning of our treasured friendship and mutual love of designing and making jewelry!!
This format seems to work well!

I remember classes with Van, Jr & Sr year. I carry her words with me. File, sweet pea, file. And then, file some more.

I loved our flea market shopping Lisha! I’m still browsing through the jewelry at the flea market. In Jr. High we were wearing the POW/MIA bracelets from the Vietnam war.

I had a necklace that was a glass jar with some flowers inside and they had some scented oils on them. I loved that necklace but I lost it in a parking lot and it got run over 😭
I don’t think I’ve been getting enough newsletters to know the difference between the choices!
